We attended the wedding of Nadia and Norman on the 29th of June, held at the exquisite Coolibah Downs Private Estate. Coolibah Downs Private Estate is a beautiful wedding venue situated in Nerang in the Northern Suburbs of the Gold Coast. It’s private location hidden in the forested areas of Nerang made this hidden paradise a gorgeous backdrop to to their wedding. After a wedding held on the lawn, guests mingled for cocktail hour out on the lawn and inside the classically vintage house while waiting for the reception.
- It’s A Keeper Package: $1,650 for an hour inclusive of celebrant, photography, videography and a bottle of champagne
- Lucky in Love Package: $1,880 for 90 minutes inclusive of 16 guests, decoration, celebrant, an hour of photography and videography, two bottles of champagne and a platter of nibbles
- Twilight Love Package: $2,275 Monday to Thursday, $2,500 Friday to Sunday for two hours inclusive of celebrant, decorating, photography and 25 guests
2. Cedar Creek Estate
Get married at the romantic Sandstone Chapel and hold your reception at the gorgeous Garden Arbor of Cedar Creek Estate atop Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Famous for its own vineyard and winery as well as selections from the Queensland Wine Centre, the Estate also features a Diners’ Choice Award-winning restaurant, the Arthur Hamblin Art Gallery and a Glow Worm Cave.
The estate’s 7-hour, $10,500-Love on a Budget package includes the ceremony, on-site wedding coordinators, a reception, and a DJ to go with it. Your 65 guests (add $145 for each additional guest) will be served a pre-dinner fruit and cheese platter with sparkling white wine and a three-course dinner. Other packages include:
- Cedar Premium: Seven hours for $14,200 for a minimum of 70 adults on Saturdays or $8,900 for a minimum of 40 adults from Sunday to Friday
- Winery Package: Seven hours for $172 per head for a minimum of 40 adults from Sunday to Friday or a minimum of 70 adults on Saturdays
- Vineyard Lunch: Five hours for $4,200 for 30 adults from Sunday to Thursday only
3. Glenrock Farm
Have a tasteful tent wedding and reception at Glenrock Farm, a 22-acre dairy land oasis above the Carrara plain in the heart of the Gold Coast just 10km away from the beach. For your reception, you’ll be able to choose from their super flexible catering options sourced from seasonal local produce. The Farm is a bring-your-own-beverage venue, which means you can save a bundle by designing your own drinks menu, although they do have RSA-certified bar staff.
Whether you go with a formal sit-down breakfast, lunch or dinner menu or set up a buffet, you’ll spend a minimum of about $65 to $79 per person. If you want to add pre-dinner drinks or canapes, add $21 per person; if you prefer cocktails, you’ll spend from $45 per head. As creative alternatives, you might want to consider having High Tea or a Picnic reception.
4. Clandulla Cottages
If you’re looking to get hitched and have your honeymoon in the same place, Clandulla Cottages & Farmstay could be the romantic getaway for you. Just 40 minutes away from the Gold Coast, it’s the perfect place for a boutique country wedding where you can welcome up to 40 guests. Sprawling across 20 acres in the Scenic Rim, your ceremony will be held against a backdrop of manicured gardens and an orchard, where the bride will walk down beautifully polished floors leading up to the gazebo draped in cream voile and white wisteria.
Only one wedding is allowed to be held every weekend or weekday, so you know you’ll enjoy complete privacy on your special day. As a BYO venue, Clandulla also allows you to choose your own caterer and drinks, giving you more options to save. The Gazebo Deck Ceremony costs $1,000 for two hours, while package extras include $2,500 for a two-day, two-night stay; $200 for the Powder Club bridal entourage dressing room, $300 for the cool room, and $180 for staff support.
5. BSKT
For health-conscious couples looking for a beachside venue for their wedding, the BSKT (“Biscuit”) Cafe in Mermaid Beach offers a charming, open-air venue with a great sea view. Its stylish loft can seat 60 guests, or provide standing room for 90 guests in a cocktail setting. Originally founded as a healthy-eating restaurant, BSKT has become a global health food brand whose Cafe has made a name for itself not just as an environmental health space but as a trendy venue for weddings and events.
Packages range from about $30 to $120 per guest, every one of which is bound to remember every scrumptious thing on the menu.
